Date Calculator (Add or Subtract Days)

Resulting Date

Calculating Dates

This simple calculator allows you to perform date arithmetic, which is useful for planning, scheduling, and finding deadlines. You can take any date and add or subtract a specific number of days, weeks, months, or years to instantly find the resulting date.

How to Use This Calculator

The calculator is designed for ease of use and provides results in real-time.

  1. Select a Start Date: Use the date picker to choose your initial date. It defaults to today's date.
  2. Choose to Add or Subtract: Use the dropdown menu to select whether you want to add (+) time or subtract (-) time from the start date.
  3. Enter the Quantity and Unit: Input the number of days, weeks, months, or years you want to add or subtract.

The resulting date will be displayed automatically in the results panel below.

Handling Month and Year Calculations

While adding or subtracting days and weeks is straightforward, calculations involving months and years have some complexities that this calculator handles for you:

  • Month Length: The calculator correctly accounts for the varying number of days in each month (e.g., 28, 29, 30, or 31).
  • End-of-Month Dates: When adding a month to a date like January 31st, there is no February 31st. In these cases, the calculator will adjust to the last day of the resulting month (e.g., February 28th or 29th).
  • Leap Years: The calculator automatically accounts for leap years, ensuring accuracy when adding or subtracting years that cross a February 29th.
